***** I was arrested today as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the UN General Assembly. This is Darializa Avila Chevalier texting, your Democratic Nominee for NY-13.

Hundreds of New Yorkers refused to let Netanyahu flout his international arrest warrant. We gathered outside the UN in an act of civil disobedience to say that a war criminal shouldn't walk our city's streets unchallenged.

Palestinians keep facing unthinkable conditions. Meanwhile, families in our district are losing food assistance, paying more for worse health care and watching their schools lose resources, all so the federal government can keep paying for war.

That's why I am running: to fund our babies, not our bombs. 

Now and in Congress, I'm going to fight harder to fund our communities and stop endless war. In organizing and campaigns, we're only as strong as the people behind us.
