When I was 16 years old, I was shot point-blank. 
My name's Tony Box, Democrat running for Texas Attorney General. Let me tell you what happened:
I had chased down a man who had stolen a woman's purse, and in the struggle, he turned and shot me. The bullet tore through my gut and lodged in my liver.
Doctors weren't sure I would survive.
Lying in that hospital bed, I was given a second chance at life - and I made a vow: If I lived, I would dedicate the time God gave me to the service of others.
That promise has shaped everything I've done since.
→ I became a soldier and led troops in combat.
→ I served as an FBI agent and SWAT team member.
→ I stood in courtrooms as a federal prosecutor, fighting for victims and holding powerful people accountable.
And today, that promise is why I'm running for Texas Attorney General.
