Ryan, my mom left the Soviet Union in Sept. of '91 with nothing but a suitcase and a hope that life in the US would be better.

My name is Lisa Vedernikova Khanna. We didn't have it easy: I relied on Medicaid for healthcare, food assistance programs for school lunch, and started helping my mom clean houses at 10. By 13, I had 3 jobs.

Because of my mom's sacrifice, our hard work, and the opportunity that this country provided, I was able to achieve my dream of going to college. After, I worked as a Chief of Staff to some of the country's biggest organizations with thousands of employees.

Now, I'm running for Congress in VA-01 because Washington politicians like my opponent Rob Wittman are abandoning our working families. He voted to 1️⃣ gut Medicaid, 2️⃣ give billionaires huge tax breaks, and 3️⃣ stop the release of the Epstein Files.
