One thing that distinguishes me from most of my colleagues is that I rely virtually entirely on grassroots donations.

The average donation to my campaign floats around $16-19. I don't take meetings with lobbyists, and I don't curry favor with billionaires.

I do this so I can legislate and operate independently from our corrupting system of campaign finance and revolving doors politics.
